Please check the CLASS SCHEDULE below for GROUP CLASSES and WORKSHOPS. Now that the weather is getting cooler, we will be focusing more on outdoor training in local parks, shopping malls, other places of business (Starbuck's, Lowe's, Home Depot, PetsMart). All classes and workshops (unless otherwise noted) will be held at Paradise Cove Park, 3825 E Paradise Lane, Phoenix 85032. Classes are approximately ONE hour in length.

GROUP CLASSES are great for learning in a fast paced, distracting environment. They are excellent for dogs that are easily motivated, and provide socialization for the pets as well as the humans! We meet once a week, for approximately one hour. Read on to learn about the different classes we offer. Use the links below to check for start dates, times, and locations. Leash Walking Workshop: Teach your dog to follow YOUR lead!
Having difficulty walking your dog on a leash? Is Fido much too strong or unresponsive to your corrections? Wouldn't it be great if your dog walked with you, instead of walking YOU? Well now he can! Teach your dog to follow your lead, and get a new *leash* on life! Our instructors will show you how to teach your dog to follow your body language, allowing you to set the pace.

"Meet N Greet" Workshop
This one hour workshop is designed to work on your dogs social skills, by teaching them how to appropriately meet and greet other humans and dogs. Great for dogs with aggression/anxiety issues or over-excitability. No more jumping, barking, or lunging! You dog will be on his way to becoming a well mannered canine companion!

Emergency Recall Workshop
Coming when called is one the most important training skills, yet it is commonly overlooked. Don’t wait until your dog wont return to you to start training this command. This fast paced, fun workshop is intended to strengthen the vital skill of the recall. Your dog will come running to you immediately through a series of obstacles and distractions created to simulate real-life experiences.

GROUP CLASSES

TRAINING LEVEL 1

Puppy 101
This highly motivating course is designed for puppies under 6 months. This class will teach your puppy: sit, down, stay, come when called, leave it, leash walking, and provide the necessary socialization for growing puppies. We also focus on teaching pups to properly meet-n-greet new people and pets, and help owners eliminate those puppy behaviors! (i.e. potty training, jumping, barking, chewing, digging)
Must be at least 10 wks to join this class!

Beginner's Basics
This course has a similar curriculum to Puppy 101, but is reserved for dogs 6 months and older. Training to teach sit, down, stay, wait, come, leave it and leash walking, but the focus is on listening skills. Socialization and proper meet-n-greets are practiced, and we also break those bad dog habits of jumping, digging, barking, and chewing.
End of class goal: 10ft sit-stay while instructor walks past with a bouncing ball.

First lesson for Beginners: How to reward good behavior

TRAINING LEVEL 2 - In order to participate in Level 2, you must have completed Puppy 101, Beginner's Basics, OR have Trainer approval
Intermediate Education
This course is for those who have completed Beginner's Basics, or with instructor approval. Focus highly on listening skills, and complete control in different situations. Dogs learn word and hand signal distinction. Instructors teach The Off-Leash Heel, stay with distractions, and the "Your Bed" command. Introduction to "Red Rover" and "Leapfrog" games teach pets to respond to only the commands of their owner, not the other dogs or parents in the class.
Graduation requirements: Dogs must Heel Off-Leash thru a course, perform a down-stay while another dog is called past, and are expected to perform all commands without food bribery.

Agility for Beginners
This non-competition agility course is designed for dogs that move! Burn off excess energy, provide excellent mental stimulation, and make training fun!

Rally-O
Rally obedience is a dog sport based on obedience. Unlike regular obedience, instead of waiting for a judge's orders, the competitors proceed around a course of designated stations with the dog in heel position. The course consists of 10 to 20 signs that instruct the team what to do. Unlike traditional obedience, handlers are allowed to encourage their dogs during the course. This is loads of fun for dogs and their people! (Class will be held on Friday evenings OR Sunday afternoons, beginning in January [or as soon as we have 5-6 dogs signed up].)
WATCH A FIRST TIME RALLY-O COMPETITOR AND HER DOG

Class requirements: Dogs should know their basics -- sit, down, come, stay and be able to walk at heel on a loose leash.

Trick Training
Switch up your dog's boring routine by teaching him some exciting tricks! Fun for the whole family, and provides excellent mental stimulation for dogs who just crave more!

Tricks include: Shake, Wave, High 5, Spin, Unwind, Take a bow, Around, Ring a Bell, Jump thru Hoops, Roll Over, Crawl, Play Dead, Intro to Weave Poles.

On the Town Training
Each week this workshop meets in a different location, providing your dog with real-life experience, helping your dog become more consistently trained in any setting.

TRAINING LEVEL 3 - Must complete Intermediate Eduction or have Trainer approval
Advanced Education
This intensive six week course is focused on obedience skills in highly distracting environments. The entire course must be completed either off leash or on a long line - with emphasis on total verbal control. The first two classes will be held at The Dog House, where we will perfect the off-leash heel, the recall, and learn to command our dogs from a distance. The following four classes will be at Roadrunner Park, Echo Mountain Dog Park (Grovers Ave and Cave Creek Rd), and Desert Ridge Marketplace; practicing our skills in the most distracting and realistic scenarios. Upon completion of this course, your dog will be Canine Good Citizen tested by AKC Standards. Completion of Beginner's Basics and Intermediate Education OR Trainer Approval is required.

Is your dog a well mannered member of society? Complete this test to register him with the AKC, and show all your pooch pals what a Good Citizen your Canine is!
CGC Prep Class: Run through of all the requirements, make sure your pup is on track! One hour session.
